Web Rank controls the automatic ordering of products on your website. Think of it like a finishing position in a race — 1st place appears before 2nd place, so products with a lower Web Rank number appear higher on the page. The system automatically assigns each product a rank based on the following priority order:

  1. Bestsellers in Inventory — Products that have sold in the past 4 months and are currently Available In Stock or On Display are given the highest priority. Their rank is determined by how well they sell within their category, so your top performers appear at the very front.
  2. Available Stock & On Display — Products that are both Available In Stock and On Display, but are not category bestsellers, appear next.
  3. Available Stock Only — Products that are Available In Stock but not currently On Display follow.
  4. On Display Only — Products that are On Display but not Available In Stock come after that (Nailed Stock, for example).
  5. Bestsellers Out of Stock — Products that have no sales history in the past 4 months but are currently neither Available In Stock nor On Display are ranked next, preserving their visibility until inventory is replenished.
  6. Unavailable Products — Products that are neither Available In Stock nor On Display and have no recent sales history receive the lowest priority.

Manual Override

If you need to pin a specific product or set of products to the top of a category, you can manually assign them a Web Rank directly in the website’s product editor or via a CSV/Excel upload. Remember, the lower the number you enter, the higher that product will appear on the page. We recommend keeping manual rankings between 1 and 99 to ensure they always take precedence over the automated rankings. If you would like to display products directly after Bestsellers in Inventory, assign them rankings starting with 1,000 and up to 10,000. A manually assigned rank will not be overwritten by the automated system, giving you full control when needed.
